PROTESTERS STORM POLICE HQ, DEMAND RELEASE OF PREMIUM TIMES JOURNALIST

Nigerians have stormed the Police Headquarters in Abuja to protest the continued detention and secret trial of Premium Times journalist, Samuel Ogundipe. The Nigerians who launched a twitter campaign under the hash tag, #FreeSamuelOgundipeNOW to demand the journalist’s freedom condemned his continued detention and condition of freedom given to him by the Nigerian police.

SIX NIGERIAN REFUGEES DIE IN CAMEROON

The UN Refugee Agency UNHCR reports that six Nigerian asylum-seekers, among them three children were killed in a blast in the far north of Cameroon.
